 Kentucky School Nutrition Association is please to provide another opportunity, for those interested, to take your SNA Credentialing Exam here in our area. The test will be administered in conjunction with the state conference in Louisville. A room will be assigned at the Galt House on Monday, June 19th from 8:00am-12:00pm. Those of you wishing to take the test at that time will need to start doing some preparation soon. You will need to register, on line for the exam at        http://www.schoolnutrition.org/Credentialing.aspx?id=1030     
 
There is a Handbook/Study Guide that you will want to purchase and begin studying also. (link to handbook mentioned below or you can call the toll free number)
 
 
Credentialing
The Credentialing Program of the School Nutrition Association was created to enhance the professional image of school foodservice & nutrition professionals. A key purpose of the Association is to develop and encourage the highest standards and provide education programs for professional development of school food and nutrition personnel. The Credentialing Program includes standards for academic and specialized training, knowledge and skills.
Credentialing Exam Handbook
The Credentialing Exam Handbook contains the eligibility requirements, credentialing application, sample questions, content outline and study reference list for the exam. Download the handbook in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.
The Credentialing Study Guide may be purchased for $40 through the SNA Emporium toll Free at 800-728-0728.

Credentialing Exam
The Credentialing Program entails the passing of a standardized national examination. The credentialing examination tests candidates on knowledge and skills directly related to job activities. The knowledge and skills that will be tested are based on the practice study the National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI) completed in 1996. The survey was a comprehensive delineation of the functions and tasks that are performed on the job and of the underlying knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be able to accomplish those tasks effectively. The examination covers eight broad areas of knowledge, skills, and practices relevant to effective school foodservice & nutrition management. The following chart shows each knowledge area and percentage of test questions taken from each area:
